The Digital Forensics project is focused on covering the basics of the collection and examination of digital evidence. We will also learn the basics of steganography by learning methods to discover hidden messages within objects. This project will mirror aspects of the IST 5250 class, so students attending this class could benefit by solidifying the material. Certifications this project aims to help you prepare for is the AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE) and Magnet Certified Forensics Examiner. In the later half of the semester we will use Cellebrite, a digital forensics tool focused on data recovery from mobile devices.
